Stop Your Air Conditioner Leaking Water

Stop Your Air Conditioner Leaking Water

The three most common reasons for water leakage from heat pumps are dirty filters or heat exchanging coils, blocked drains, and a shortage of refrigerant. They are pretty easy to diagnose and repair.

Remember: Turn off the power source to your air conditioner before trying any of the following!

1. Dirty Filters and or Blocked Heat Exchanger

When the filters, or heat exchanging coil, are dirty or blocked, this causes a restriction in air flow. This in turn can then cause the climatic characteristic of the coil to drop. If the coil climatic characteristic drops below zero, moisture in the air that is condensating on the coil can ice and form limited ice flakes which are then blown out of your air conditioner, causing water leakage.

Check the filters, and if they look dirty, give them a good clean with the hosepipe or shower head. Remove all the dirt and give them a spray with a kitchen or bathroom antiseptic spray to kill any bacteria or mould on them.

Check the aluminum coil behind the filters. If it is covered in dry lint, try vacuuming the coil thought about with the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner. If it is particularly dirty, you will need to use a organery spray bottle and a strong grease removing kitchen cleaner. Spray it on the coil, allow to work for nearby 5 minutes then rinse the coil off with the spray bottle. This should Remove the dirt and improve the air flow. Please be particular not to spray water near to the electrical panel on the air conditioner.

Always read the manufacturers' manuals on how to clean your heat pump or air conditioner correctly!

2. Blocked Drains

On a wall mounted ductless air conditioner, a blocked drain can be pretty determined and easy to diagnose. Water will normally drip down the wall from the back of the unit and may also leak straight through the air outlet at the front if the drain is blocked.

Stand on a small ladder and look down from the top of the air conditioner. Towards the bottom of the heat exchanger is a limited plastic tray which is designed to catch the condensate produced by the cooling mode of the air conditioner. Check that this tray is not full of water or overflowing.

If your outdoor unit is directly behind the wall the indoor unit is mounted on, your drain pipe will likely follow the pipework straight through the wall and drip into the garden. If this is the case, find the end of the drain pipe outside, wipe the end clean with a cloth then blow as hard as you can into it. This should clear any blockages.

If you cannot clear the blockage yourself, or if it is buried inside the wall, you will need to phone a pro Hvac service company and book a service call.

3. Your Air Conditioner Has A Leak and Has Lost Refrigerant

If your air filters and heat exchanger are clean and you have lots of air flow, your air conditioner should deliver abundance of cool air. If it is struggling to cool the room for a few hours and then starts leaking water from the air vent it may be short on refrigerant.

Set your heat pump to the bottom setting possible and leave it to run for a limited while. Then check the heat exchanging coil underneath the filters. If it is covered in ice, your air conditioner has a leak and requires a pro to service it. If your air conditioner is leaking refrigerant, the leak will need to be found and fixed before it can have supplementary refrigerant added to it.

If in doubt, or these tips don't work, perceive your local air conditioning company for a service.

Does Running Your Car's Air Conditioner verily sway Gas Mileage

Does Running Your Car's Air Conditioner verily sway Gas Mileage

When it gets warm outside, your air conditioner becomes your best friend. This is most definitely true in your car, where temperatures can sky rocket to 170 degrees under direct sunlight. But most habitancy these days are under the impression that the more you run your air conditioner the more gas your car will guzzle. Now that gas prices are higher than the cost to eat at McDonald's, habitancy are beginning to take precautions and do what they can to help with their cars fuel economy. The assumption that running your air conditioner burns way more gas is somewhat untrue. Leaving your air conditioner off makes barely any contrast in the estimate of gas you burn. With the advent of modern, more fuel sufficient cars, this myth is busted!

Does Running Your Car's Air Conditioner verily sway Gas Mileage

The air conditioner draws its power from the machine which uses some gas, but with today's cars, this use of gas is minute. The air conditioner can decrease the fuel economy of your car up to 20% in some vehicles, but it depends on the type. Driving with the air conditioner is more fuel sufficient than driving with the windows down. Driving with the windows down creates drag which means that your machine has to work harder to keep your car at the current speed; this burns more gas than if you just ran your air conditioner.

In the long run, using your air conditioner is far best than any other means of cooling yourself off in the car, unless you're driving in traffic. When you drive in traffic you aren't going very fast so the drag on the car is minimal. In these cases, you burn more fuel running the air conditioner than having the windows down. That makes sense. When you drive on the highway you can use whether the air conditioner or the "window down" recipe to cool yourself, because, honestly, there is no noticeable contrast in gas usage at those speeds.

Here are some tips about you and the heat in your car. Before you get into a hot car, roll down the windows and let it air out. There is nothing worse than getting into a hot car, sitting on a lava hot seat, touching a super hot steering wheel, and breathing stuffy super heated air. Your car needs some time to cool down for itself and for you. Once you believe it is cool adequate to unquestionably sit on the seat, turn on the car and run the air conditioner on recirculation. This will help the car cool down much quicker, and you can be on the road fast without sacrificing a layer of your precious skin.

So now that you know the air conditioner can be your fuel sufficient friend, maybe you won't be so quick to turn it off or ignore it in favor off putting the windows down and choking on bugs. The air conditioner in your car burns much less gas than your window method, so give your air conditioner a opening and be cool in the heat.

What is an Inverter Air Conditioner?

What is an Inverter Air Conditioner?

You have probably had sales people come into your home and start recomending Inverter Ducted Air conditioning. And chances are you don't fully understand how it works.

What is an Inverter Air Conditioner?

What is an Inverter Air Conditioner?

Well here is a basic explanation of Inverter units.
You see, a basic accepted theory has a basic motor it it just like your motor car. This motor basically has two speeds. Flat out and Stop.

These systems use a lot of electricity in these types of motors because it takes a lot of power to start a motor from Zero. And when your home reaches the temperature that you requested on your atmosphere control thermostat the motor will turn off completely.

With an inverter Air conditioning system, like Fujitsu, Daikin, or Mitsubishi Electric, these motors are designed differently.
You see, when you turn on an inverter, the motor will start up moderately so that it does not use a lot of power, then the motor moderately speeds up to full power on a sliding scale. This way the theory uses less power to initially start up.

As the ducted theory gets closer to reaching your temperature that you requested in your home, the motor will start slowing down, thus using less electricity. And as an added benefit, the temperature in your home will remain more constant, assuming the heat load has been done and you have sized your unit correctly.

The end corollary is that the motor does not have to completely stop and because of this you don't use a lot of electricity trying to overcome inertia trying to make the motor initiate from a complete stop.

They are a very good technology to use when compared to accepted systems, any way my personal thought is that Digital Scroll units will deliver enev more power savings and temperature control.

One Warning. Do Not Under Size Your Inverter theory Or You Will Use At Least 10% More Electricity Than A accepted Air Conditioning System.

I will talk more about this next time.

ease Zone Vs EdenPure Infrared Heater recap

I am often asked which Infrared Heater is better, the relax Zone, or the EdenPure, and the respond is always a tricky one. Neither one completely blows the other out of the competition, but there are some minor differences between both units that deserve being mentioned.

The relax Zone Infrared Heater performs better than the EdenPure in the area of heat diffusion and operating life time. The relax Zone Infrared Heaters have a new heat diffuser made of stainless steel that is capable of producing 14% more heat than its competitors. relax Zones are also designed to last longer because of their unique infrared heating technology. It boasts up to a 20,000 hour life span before a exchange could be necessary. The EdenPure though, uses appropriate infrared bulbs that are only rated at a 5,000 hour operating lifetime.

A similarity that both the relax Zone and EdenPure share is the type of heat exchanger each unit has installed. They both use solid copper heater exchangers that improve the absorption of infrared heat. This copper exchanger converts the infrared waves into a bandwidth of 9-10 microns through a process of copper ionization. This bandwidth is the optimum level for maximum heat absorption.

The relax Zone provides healthier heat. What this means is that relax Zone Infrared Heaters do not burn any oxygen, or work on humidity levels while operation. Most appropriate galvanic heaters can emit harmful byproducts and furnish uncomfortable heat. The relax Zone though, provides a gentle type of heat that stays consistent from floor to ceiling.

Both units come with a fully functional remote and thermostat, and diffuse their heat with the help of an internal fan. relax Zone Infrared Heaters use a Dual Dc fan ideas that is much quieter in comparison others. This is an foremost aspect of an appliance you will be operating in your home for an extended period of time.

In terms of pricing, the relax Zone comes out to be more expensive. The top price relax Zones are almost 400-500 dollars, while the most expensive EdenPures are in the 300-400 dollar price range. Both units however, share a similar price tag in their lower priced models of around 300-350 dollars.

In conclusion, both of these Infrared Heaters would make great additions to your home, but it is foremost to weigh the options and make an informed decision. The relax Zone , while gift slightly better functionality, comes at a slightly higher price. I have found that when purchasing an item such as this, it is foremost to look for the best potential stock that you can favorably afford. This decision will pay off in the long run in terms of maintenance fees and repairs.
